How should I manage my FUT Coins in EA FC 27?

I’ve been thinking about how to approach Ultimate Team in EA FC 27 without wasting my coins during the early stages of the game. In previous editions, I often spent most of my balance on a few players because they looked like great upgrades, only to find their prices dropping shortly afterward. This time I’d like to be a bit more patient and actually have a plan for managing my FUT Coins instead of constantly buying players whenever I have enough money.

One of the biggest questions for me is whether it’s better to build a cheap, balanced squad or save for one really strong player who can make a noticeable difference. Sometimes upgrading several positions with affordable cards seems much more useful than spending everything on a single expensive player. On the other hand, there are certain positions where having one high-quality player can completely change how the team performs.

I’m also interested in how other players approach the Transfer Market. I’ve never been particularly serious about trading, so I usually earn coins through matches, rewards and selling players I don’t need. However, it seems like understanding market fluctuations could make a huge difference over the course of the game. I’m wondering whether casual players should even bother learning basic trading strategies or whether it’s better to focus on playing and gradually building the club.

SBCs are another area where I tend to spend more than I planned. It’s easy to see an interesting challenge and think that the reward is worth the cost, especially when the required players are already sitting in the club. But after completing several SBCs, I sometimes realize that I’ve used resources that could have helped me improve my starting eleven. I’m curious whether experienced players set a specific budget for SBCs or simply evaluate every challenge individually.

I’m also unsure about when to buy expensive players. The market can change significantly depending on new content, rewards and promotions, so buying a player at the wrong time can mean losing a large part of the investment. At the same time, waiting forever for the “perfect” price means you’re not actually using the player while you’re playing the game. I’d rather enjoy my squad than constantly worry about whether a card might become cheaper tomorrow.

Another thing I want to avoid is having my entire coin balance tied up in players. Having some coins available seems useful because unexpected opportunities can appear at any time. If a player suddenly becomes affordable or an SBC requires something I already wanted, having no coins left can be frustrating. I’m thinking about keeping a reserve instead of spending everything, but I’m not sure what percentage of the total balance makes sense.

I’d also like to hear how people decide which positions deserve the biggest investments. For me, chemistry, playstyle and how a player actually feels in-game are usually more important than simply looking at the overall rating. A cheaper player who fits my tactics perfectly can sometimes perform better for me than a much more expensive card that doesn’t suit my style.

For players who don’t have unlimited time to play every day, I imagine coin management becomes even more important. You can’t simply grind matches for hours to recover from a bad purchase, so every major decision has more impact. I’m interested in strategies that work for someone who plays regularly but isn’t trying to turn Ultimate Team into a full-time job.
